Teatro ZinZanni

For a fun-filled, fast-paced date, book tickets to Seattle's Teatro ZinZanni. It's hard to describe exactly what ZinZanni is -- a bit of a dinner show, a bit of the circus, a bit of comedy, a bit of cabaret -- but everyone who experiences it will agree that it is amazing. A gourmet five-course dinner, designed by renowned Seattle chef, Tim Douglas, is served during the show, generally offering you a choice between a beef, fish and vegetarian main course. Keep in mind that audience participation is not just encouraged, but expected, so be prepared to let loose! Looking to make a night of it? Stay at the brand-new Maxwell Hotel across the street from the theater.

Learn the history of Sweet's Candy Factory and how it began and evolved into the candy we know and love today. You will also be able to view the workers in action as they make the chocolate and other candies. Learn each step the candy goes through before it is sent to the stores to be sold. Each candy is carefully inspected, weighed, packaged and shipped out for sale.

Needle and Thread

Take note of the phone number for Needle and Thread, because calling it is the only way you're going to get into this super tiny, secret bar. Located above Tavern Law, one of Capitol Hill's favorite spots to dine and drink, Needle and Thread is Seattle's own Speakeasy. The bar itself is only comfortable for a dozen or so people. You must call and make a reservation in advance (or be very lucky when you stop by Tavern Law), especially on a weekend. To access Needle and Thread, head to the phone on the wall in the back of the room and give them the secret password. A little hint -- dress lightly, it can be very warm upstairs.
