Mother Road Brewing Company
A child play area complete with book, puzzles and games makes Mother Road Brewing Company a family-friendly brewery.
In The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck called Route 66 the “Mother Road,” a road of desperation and flight, but also a road of hope and new beginnings. And the name stuck. The kid-friendly brewery took the name Mother Road because it’s located on a lost portion of Route 66. Mother Road Brewing Company, housed in one of Flagstaff historic sites, is on the original alignment of Route 66. The reroute happened during the dust bowl when traffic caused by families moving west forced the building of a new bridge.
Today mothers and fathers travelling through Flagstaff can sample handcrafted beers while their children remain safe and content in the child play area. Mother Road Brewing Company is on the family-friendly Route 66 Walking Tour and Flagstaff Ale Trail.
