Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres

It’s never too early to begin planning spring and summer trips with the kids. Jellystone has something for everyone: toddlers to teens and even exhausted parents. The park has a game room with video games and recreation hall for pick-up basketball as well as outdoor laser tag and fire-truck rides. Favorites of parents are the whirlpool spa, pool lounges, and fishing. Don’t forget the accommodations: camping is an all-time favorite of most visitors, but many parents choose to let the park mess with the details and rent a cabin.

Washington State Park

Make the holidays memorable—bundle up the kids, grab sippy-cups full of hot cocoa and pack yourselves into the car to experience the famous 125-light display from traditional Santa’s sleigh to new yearly designs! Santa will be at the Lakehouse to hear Christmas wishes while refreshments are served and family crafts and activities are available to entertain everyone.

Empire State Plaza Indoor Concourse

Need a lunchtime break from indoor winter playtime with the kids? Head to the winter farmer’s market for local produce, baked goods, and ice-skating! Parents love strolling with the kids through the concourse trialing fresh fruits and tasting decadent desserts.

Ellms Family Farm

Fun for the entire family for the holidays: corn maze that challenges even navigational savvy parents; on-site market to enjoy freshly baked donuts and hot apple cider; hayrides and pumpkin patch picking! After Thanksgiving, families return to the farm to visit the reindeer, catch a trolley ride, and see the talking tree. Before the day is over, families hike through the Christmas tree farm to find that special, one of kind tree for the holiday.

Howe Caverns

Be prepared to be surprised! The elevator plunges you 156 feet below the ground and opens to a world of chilly prehistoric secrets you and your family will love. Tunneling walkways slink through limestone creations of stalagmites and stalactites, while the lights illuminate a few friendly animals that live in the caves—salamanders and blind cave fish. After your underground tour, kids love to mine for gemstone treasures at the HC Mining Company.
