The Flying Biscuit Cafe

The Flying Biscuit Cafe has several locations in the Atlanta-area and has been a breakfast and brunch staple for years. From vegan fare to classic southern comfort food, there isn't much that this popular cafe can't do. And if the wait doesn't prove just how spectacular the restaurant is, just take a look at those biscuits. Massive, fluffy and made from scratch every morning, there's not much better then a Flying Biscuit, unless you try the French toast, or the sweet potato pancakes or perhaps the grits. Come early and with a big appetite because the portions are huge, but the atmosphere is friendly and the staff is helpful. A very family-friendly environment, the Flying Biscuit is a perfect place for breakfast/brunch lovers of all ages.

Another Broken Egg Cafe

A nice cozy atmosphere in a central location, Another Broken Egg is an egg-lover's paradise. Fantastic eggs any way you want them, and did I mention they have Bananas Foster French Toast? Originally started in Louisiana, Another Broken Egg certainly has Bayou flavor, with Cajun spices and andouille sausage incorporated into many of its popular dishes. They also boast one of the best Bloody Mary's in the city, hands down. A perfect spot for breakfast of brunch with the girls or a date with your man, Another Broken Egg is almost like eating in someone's bright, festive house. As long as that someone makes killer omelets.

Sweet Melissa's

A charming bakery and breakfast/brunch hotspot in Downtown Decatur, Sweet Melissa's has been around since 1989, making tasty bakery staples and wonderful sandwiches, breakfasts and more. You want traditional breakfast food, they have it. Craving a crazier food to eat? You can scratch that itch at Sweet Melissa's as well. From yogurt pancakes to giant mad platter breakfast, they have something for every taste bud and sizable portions that aren't for the faint of heart. Cute outdoor seating and a dimmer interior, you could easily take your kids or take a date to the popular establishment. Like any eatery worth its salt in the trendy Decatur area, this one is typically busy on the weekends, so take note before you start out that you may have to wait. But it will certainly be worth it when you sink your teeth into this fantastic food.

Le Petit Marche

Take southern favorites like grits, pancakes, gravy and eggs and add a French twist and you have Le Petit Marche in Kirkwood. Add fresh pastries on top of it, along with rich coffee and decadent jams and you have a hidden spot in a hipster area that might be small, but makes up for it's size with style and taste. Just one bite of anything on the menu will have you ready to come back for more again and again. Not only can you stop in for a bite on their super cheap menu, but you can take stuff to go. Translated to The Little Market, Le Petit Marche also sells fresh peanut butter, soaps, olives, popcorn and more. Take a bit of France home with you at this breakfast/brunch restaurant.

Ria's Bluebird

Some of the best pancakes in Atlanta, Ria's Bluebird has several things your typical restaurant is lacking, and that is fresh ingredients, freshly prepared by a fantastic cook and served by a stellar staff. The downside? The restaurant is small - let's call it quaint - and it's popular. So that means it's busy, especially on the weekends. Either come early or wait until after the breakfast has thinned out before venturing to Ria's. Located in trendy Grant Park, Ria's is just across the street from the historic Oakland Cemetery, so come early, take a stroll after breakfast then stop back for one of their fantastic sandwiches or eggs Benedict for brunch. There are so many tasty items to try at Ria's, you have to come back for more.
