Ballet Austin's Butler Community School

Dance your way into shape at Ballet Austin's Butler Community School. This facility offers courses, workshops and drop-in classes in both dance and fitness for kids, teens and adults. Dance classes include ballet, hip hop, hula jazz, tap and more. Fitness instruction ranges from arms and abs conditioning to turbo kick boxing. They also have a fabulous pilates studio where certified instructors teach beginner to advanced classes for both individuals and groups. Their pilates center was voted best in Austin in January 2011 by Austin Fit magazine. It's the perfect place for a creative workout that will make you look good and feel good.

Barton Creek Greenbelt

Accessible from the heart of the city yet right in the middle of nature, the Barton Creek Greenbelt is considered the "crown jewel of Austin" when it comes to mountain biking. This greenbelt stretches from Zilker Park all the way into the outskirts of the Austin city limits. You can enter from inside Zilker Park or from Loop 360. The Loop 360 entrance is less traveled and cuts out about one and half miles of the main trail, which totals seven miles. If you stay on the main trail, this area is moderately challenging. However if you venture off and explore the back trails, the difficulty is definitely heightened.

Barton Springs Pool

This vast three-acre swimming pool in Austin's Zilker Park is filled by water from underground Main Barton Spring -- the fourth largest spring in the state. This pool is a popular destination for residents and visitors alike because you can swim year-round. The temperature of the water only varies from 68.0 to 71.6 degrees F from winter to summer. Adult admission is just three dollars, while kids and seniors get a discount. Keep in mind that they usually clean the pool on Thursdays, so it's generally closed.
