Breakfast/Brunch in Baltimore, MD
For some good comfort food like chicken and waffles topped with real maple syrup with a side of grits head over to Miss Shirley's. As soon as you walk in you will be greted with a smile and as soon as you sit down you will be amazed by how fast the service is, and after you take one bite of your food you willvfeel like you are at someone's house rather than at a restaurant. Some highlights from the menu aside from the chicken and waffles and grits are the blueberry pancakes, pumpkin french toast, and the marilyn omlette that is stuffed with crab meat, swiss cheese, and topped with Old Bay seasoning. Arrive a few minutes before you want to eat as there can sometimes be a short wait.
While you will not get a bargain breakfast or brunch at Regi's, you will get phenomenal food! Located in the heart of Baltimore's Fed Hill neighborhood a seat on the patio will lend itself to great people watching, and they must know you are coming for the people watching as much as you are coming for the food because the patio is covered in plastic during the winter so you can still enjoy that aspect of the dining experience. Serving classic American comfort food the tater tots are amazing and the breakfast burrito is tasty as well. There is a great ambiance to this restaurant which is made up of two converted rowhomes, reservations are recommended as it can get crowded on the weekends.
One of the most fun restaurants in Baltimore it has that typical kitschy Baltimore feel. With a pez dispenser collection and toys glued to the wall this is a great family friendly spot to take the kids where they will be entertained by the decorations. The menu (which is covered by old 1940s book jackets) consists of typical diner American fare including burgers, typical breakfast favorites, and incredible milkshakes. The salted caramel milkshake and caramel apple and bacon milkshake are the perfect match of sweet and salty. The food and milkshakes are great, the decor is fun, but the service can sometimes feel a little rushed.
