Dog's Day Out in Branson, MO
There’s a lot you can do on the strip with your dog. As you drive down the strip you’ll find go-kart tracks, carnival rides, and ice cream shops. There are arcades, locally owned pizza joints, and lots and lots of people. The strip is the place to see and be seen. So don’t count Country Music Boulevard out just because the traffic is heavy, everything you need is within walking distance, and go-karts and carnival rides pack a lot of fun into a short ride, so the dog won’t be left out. Cruise the strip and roll into one of the many drive-thru ice cream shops and pull off the road and soak in the magnificent lights of the Branson strip!
Maybe you and the dog need some peace and quiet. Don’t over look the Westside of town. On Indian Point road you’ll find the pet-friendly Alpine Lodge Resort, where you and the family dog can rent a two-story, three bedroom, two full bath chalet cabin on the shores of Table Rock Lake. Only a mile from the infamous Silver Dollar City, Alpine offers SDC tickets at discounted prices, sometimes included in the price of the room. And when you get tired of SDC, rent a boat via the resort, fish on Alpine’s docks, have a fire in their fire pit, or you can bring your own boat and launch it on Alpine’s boat ramp.
Located on the banks of Lake Taneycomo, the Branson Landing offers the best shopping in Branson with name brand merchants such as Aeropostale, New Balance, and Hot Topic as well as popular chain restaurants like Old Chicago and Joe’s Crab Shack. Although bringing your dog into the stores is discouraged, he or she is certainly welcome in the common areas, and your pooch will have plenty of walking space along the Taneycomo shorelines and the North Beach walking trail right next door. On Friday and Saturday night during the summer season, live shows in front of the fountain, as well as a water and fire show hourly, enhance the dining and shopping experience on the landing.
Who would have thought, the nicest hotel in town accepts pets! And the guest never has to leave this magnificent gem; the Chateau has all accommodations including an AAA awarded four-diamond restaurant downstairs, gift shops, and convenience stores. The Chateau's marina sits at the bottom of this towering hill, and patrons may rent boats for an afternoon on the lake. Or, if they choose, the day may be spent sipping margaritas by the pool that over looks the sapphire lake and the ominous Table Rock Dam. Or perhaps the guests would like to spend some quality time in the room with their pet, and order in with room service from the Grill downstairs. Rough day? Guests have access to the Chateau’s spa.
Stay in Branson’s newest four-diamond resort and hotel, the Hilton. Overlooking Lake Taneycomo, historic downtown Branson, and the new Branson Landing, the Hilton is in the middle of it all. Take the pooch for a walk down to the Landing where you can shop while your better half goes fishing on Taneycomo. Not that you ever have to leave the comfort of the Hilton, as there are bars, restaurants, and entertainment right in the hotel, all at your convenience. If you’re looking for a cultural experience, historic downtown Branson is within walking distance. There you will find locally owned shops, some of which have been in business for more than fifty years.
