Nightlife in Dallas, TX
Every girl loves a good laugh – and you’ll get plenty of those when you see improvisational comedy troupe Four-Day Weekend yuck it up in Sundance Square. Called “satirically sharp and hilarious” by Todd Camp of the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Four-Day Weekend has done shows for some of the biggest corporations in the U.S., including Southwest Airlines, Zales, and Pier1 Imports, just to name a few. They’re even recommended by Congress! Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Get there early to sip on a cold cocktail and listen to music in the Encore Lounge before the show. It’s perfect for date night and a great way to cheer up with the girls after a long day.
Put on your favorite cocktail dress and head to the M Lounge, where you can spend the evening living the high-life with your significant other or your BFF. This swanky Fort Worth favorite is the premier place to try some of the most creative martinis around. Nibble on fancy hors d’oeuvres from overstuffed leather couches while you drink, then light up in the cigar room where you can choose from one of eight premium brands. Not into martinis (or cigars)? Fear not, they serve wine, beer and other spirits, too. Just keep in mind that martinis are strong, so go after having dinner nearby, only have one or two drinks, and take a designated driver or call a cab.
Sure, Main Event is a great place for a day of family fun, but try leaving the kids at home one night, gather a group of your most fun-loving besties, and channel your own inner-child! While you’re there, bowl on their state-of-the-art lanes complete with lasers, black lights, fog and rockin’ jams. Shark some fellas at the pool tables or find out if your ladies-only team has what it takes on the laser tag battleground. The Main Event arcade isn’t just for kids, either. Play air hockey or skee-ball or create a virtual roller coaster in the full, 360-degree, 2-axis-motion Max Flight. Hint: Tell your kids you’re going to the opera.
Ready, ladies? It’s time to put on your sexiest club duds and saunter down to LaBare Dallas where six packs don’t say Budweiser! LaBare, which became the first full-male dance club in 1978, features a Vegas-style burlesque show. Whether it’s a birthday party, your bachelorette party or just girls’ night out, LaBare will treat you to men in uniform, skits, table dances and, yes, men stripping to nothing but their skivvies! Get your birthday spankings like never before. And if you think your man has what it takes to shake it with the pros, Thursday is Amateur Night. Why not give him a shot?
Shake up girls’ night out with dinner and a movie the Movie Tavern way! At the Movie Tavern, you can see first-run and classic movies while munching on pizza, wraps, burgers and other treats (menus vary by location). You can purchase food, beers and other drinks in the lobby (don’t worry, if the movie starts before it’s ready, they’ll deliver it right to your seat). Some locations even have full wait-staff service inside the theater itself. There are six locations in the Metroplex, but the Fort Worth Ridgmar Mall houses the original tavern! Stay in a local hotel on weekend nights and get up the next morning for the 9 a.m. Breakfast and a Flick.
