Voyager Park

Enjoy a carefree afternoon with the family at Voyager Park. Baby will be content riding in the baby-size swings and sliding down the tiny slide; walkers will be thrilled to climb all around the playground equipment.

The large grassy area invites you to spread out a blanket and have lunch or just simply soak up the sunshine. When everyone has had their fill of the playground, go for a walk along the Fox River Trail, which is located right behind the park. Let baby get a close look at the water – if you are lucky baby may spot a few ducks paddling down the river.

Apple Valley Orchard

Apple picking is a favorite family activity in fall. Head to Apple Valley Orchard in De Pere to get your fill of apples; pack the stroller and give baby an apple to taste and to entertain her while you pick a bagful. Bring enough home to make seasonal delights – apple pie and apple crisp. Yum!

No need to rush home. Enjoy a pleasant autumn afternoon at the orchard. Apple Valley Orchard has a walking trail where a variety of animals may be seen. Head into the sales room and pick up fresh baked pastries and caramel apples. A one-stop shop, Apple Valley Orchard also has pumpkins, corn stalks, gourds and straw bales for sale.

Snips and Giggles

If the kids’ hair is getting long, schedule an appointment for everyone at Snips and Giggles. This kid-friendly salon has darling car styling stations to make haircuts fun. Baby’s hair hanging in their eyes? Sneak them into the chair too. An animated movie plays for them as the talented ladies trim. Kids are rewarded with a tasty lollipop when they are done.

Mom and dad need a haircut too? They have adult chairs and are qualified to give you the latest style. No need to worry what the kids are up to – they are entertained at a train table.

While you’re here, take care of some of the shopping on your to-do list. They have shampoo, conditioner, styling aids, hair bows and adorable gifts.

Jitter Bean Coffee & Ice Cream

If you are one of those mommies that only operate on caffeine, head to Jitter Bean Coffee & Ice Cream. The friendly staff is ready to start your day right with their superior service and a smile.

The coffee shop has comfy furniture and plenty of room if baby likes to roam. If you happen to score the couch, pile some toys on the table and kick back while your little ones play. Now your only worry is what to order.

Check out their monthly drink specials – there is surely one that will wow you. The espresso options sound especially yummy – Extreme Mocha Chill, Cookie Crumble or Almond Joy. Order baby a fruit smoothie and it will become an anticipated morning stop.

Bay Beach Amusement Park

Each year thousands of area families spend an afternoon or two at Bay Beach Amusement Park for some memory making. Little ones will get huge thrills out of rides just their size while parents appreciate the amusement park allows them to entertain kids of all ages on a budget. Tickets are a quarter each; rides for tots only require one ticket.

Only at Bay Beach can baby ride boats, ladybugs and tiny cars that are his or her speed. Little ones squeal for more and luckily the lines for baby’s rides are typically very short. The bigger kids are excited to try the faster rides like the Scrambler, Yo-Yo or much talked about Zippin Pippin.
