1951 West

Seldom do we think of the eating at a restaurant found inside a hotel but 1951 West is truly a Green Bay treasure. It offers a contemporary dining experience for couples or groups that is often overlooked.

1951 West is located inside Comfort Suites, which is also home to the well-known Rock Garden Green Bay Convention Center. Just minutes north of downtown the restaurant is a convenient option whether seeing a show at the Weidner Center, heading to the Oneida Casino or visiting Lambeau Field.

The menu includes a tremendous selection of American cuisine for lunch and dinner. Rock Garden fans will be thrilled to know they can order their famous broasted chicken. They have, in my opinion, one of the best sandwiches in town – a Cranberry Macadamia Nut Chicken Salad sandwich.

A'Bravo Bistro & Wine Bar

Tucked among some delightful retail shops in the heart of Bellevue, many haven’t taken the opportunity to taste what A’Bravo Bistro & Wine Bar refers to as “sophisticated comfort food.”

A’Bravo Bistro & Wine Bar is open seven days a week. They open at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sundays. With a Sunday brunch unlike any other, diners are delighted to see crepes and strata on the menu.

The main menu features sandwiches, salads, pastas and pizzas. Entrees change to complement the season. The daily special pleases nearly every palette. A personal favorite is the Big Boo Special.

Angelina Restaurant

Fine Italian cuisine can be found at Angelina Restaurant in downtown Green Bay. The owner was born and raised in Italy and brought her cooking talents and authentic Italian recipes to share with local diners. Every dish is made from scratch. Visitors are encouraged to savor each course – Angelina Restaurant mimics the Italian philosophy that dining is an art form.

The intimate setting allows you to get lost in your dining experience. The menu features mouth-watering descriptions of each dish but best of luck correctly pronouncing the name of each dish. I prefer to point to my selection and I can hardly wait for it to arrive.

Big Tomatoes

The buzz on Big Tomatoes is growing. Locals are talking about the restaurant’s reasonable prices – all entrees are under $20 – and high-energy atmosphere. Unlike the common American cuisine Big Tomatoes specializes in delicious Mediterranean dishes.

Open Tuesday through Saturday, guests can peruse the menu and select from tasty pasta dishes, uniquely topped pizzas and entrees that include fresh fish, shellfish, meat and poultry. Signature appetizers include the Pistachio Dusted Crab and Seafood Cakes and Mussles. Grilled Beef Hanging Tenderloin and Pan Seared Sea Scallops are the Signature Entrees. Complete a meal with an unforgettable Tiramisu Roulade or Crème Brulee.

Cafe Espresso

The name would suggest it is a quaint coffee and sandwich shop but Café Espresso in downtown Green Bay is so much more.

Café Espresso is an eclectic restaurant, luring guests young and old in search of a quick cup of Joe or a delicious dinner. They feature a lengthy coffee and spirited concoction list. It is the only place in the area that offers hundreds of drink choices that include a hot drink and wine menu.

There are plenty of salads, pastas, Mexican dishes and chef specialties to choose. House specialties, served daily after 5 p.m., are masterfully sautéed and worth the wait. And Café Espresso knows how much we love our fish on Fridays. Friday specials include Seafood Alfredo, Cajun Catfish, Clam Chowder and Crab Cakes.

You may enter as a stranger but Café Espresso does their best to make you feel right at home.
