Peace Love Boot Camp

Ditch the gym, grab your girlfriends and take your workout to a whole new level. Peace Love Boot Camp is an indoor/outdoor boot camp-styled exercise and nutrition program designed to help women lose body fat, tone up, boost metabolism, decrease stress, improve overall health and get a gorgeous body. But don’t worry. Your drill instructor won’t be a screaming decorated military vet. At least not the kind you see in war movies. Instead, she’s a mother of two, business owner, regular gal – just like you. The coolest thing about Peace Love Boot Camp is that it provides a built-in accountability. You and your best gal pals help keep each other on a fitness track.

Jacksonville Surf Training

Get wet, get fit and get centered – all at Jacksonville Surf Training. Get your body in bikini shape with seasonal beach fitness boot camps, then take it a fun and challenging extra step with surf or standup paddleboard lessons. Yoga lessons are offered too – in the studio, on the beach or on a SUP (standup paddleboard) in the Atlantic Ocean waters. At least it won’t hurt when your downward dog pose fails.  Extend your girls’ day out with a multi-day "surfoga" (surf and yoga) retreat close to home or in a more exotic locale. Trips are regularly planned for sumptuous spots in Central America and the Caribbean. You’ll soak up local culture, take nature hikes, explore waterfalls and volcanoes, hit zip lines and more.

Black Creek Outfitters Kayak Tours

Get both your workout and a nature fix via a kayak tour with Black Creek Outfitters. Northeast Florida’s premiere outdoors adventure provider offers beginner level eco-historic kayak tours and can customize an outing just for you and your girlfriends. Don’t think you and your girly-girl girlfriends are prepared for such a rustic excursion? Sign up for kayak, standup paddleboard, SUP yoga or rock climbing lessons. But don’t stop there. Ditch the trendy little wine bar, take a Wilderness Remote First Aid course and learn to rough it Survivor-style. It’s female bonding at its rawest. And it makes for great conversation back at the wine bar next week.

Second Saturdays Artrageous Artwalk

If you and your girlfriends are the artsy types, you’ll want to mark your calendars for the Second Saturdays Artrageous Artwalk events in historic Amelia Island. This charming little Victorian-era town is known for its upscale galleries and world-class talent. Local artists display their varied media-photography, pottery, copper, metal, fused and stained glass, watercolors, acrylics, oils and batik creations. Participating galleries and venues serve libations and hors d’oeuvres. See some art, sip some wine and mingle with the local folk along the brick-paved sidewalks and gallery windows. Artwalk runs from 5:30 to 8:30, wrapping up just in time for dinner and dancing. GNOs don’t get any better.  Also check for nearby Jacksonville’s First Wednesday Downtown ArtWalk and St. Augustine’s First Friday ArtWalk events.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Zoo Fit

Gather your girlfriends for a walk on the wild side with the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ Zoo Fit walk. An instructor-led, two-mile or three-mile, aerobic-paced walk takes participants through lush paths as the animals wake and start their days. Take a trek across the African Veldt, through the Asian Bamboo Gardens past great apes, Florida panthers, black bears, red wolves, whooping cranes and more than 25 species of reptiles and amphibians including the eastern indigo snake and more than a few alligators. If not for the exhibit barriers, you wouldn’t need much motivation to keep moving. Good thing you’ll have your BFFs to help you keep up your pace.
