Made up of several divisions, the cultural center offers great activities for families, from city tours to family fun days on the second Saturday of every month. Check out the artifacts from Miami's past including collections of Seminole Indian artifacts and the largest collection of PanAm Airways items. From September to June, take a tour of the city by foot or bus, the Miami River by boat or learn about the history of Miami's ecological areas.
This lush, tropical jungle located on the way to Miami Beach is a favored destination for parents and children. Every November, books and literature take over Miami during its annual book fair. With multiple events during one week, the book fair is a destination for locals and tourists of all ages. But the best part is the street fair, an outdoor festival where booths filled with books take over several blocks of downtown Miami for the weekend. Parents and kids can enjoy the books, the live entertainment and food sold throughout the festival. An area devoted exclusively to children also offers endless activities including story times, dancing and singing.
