Mall of America

A mall may not sound like the most romantic place for a date, but if you're in Minnesota it’s the perfect place. Mall of America is the crown jewel of shopping malls with over 520 stores, four department stores, 50 restaurants and a chapel where couples get married year-round. Some suggested dining options include Crave, Napa Valley Grille, Tucci Benucch and Twin City Grille. Afterward, stop in at Godiva or Lindt for a sweet treat. If that isn’t enough, opt for a game of a miniature golf course, explore the Underground Aquarium take in a movie at the theatres or play at the indoor Nickelodeon Universe theme park.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

There is no doubt Minneapolis Sculpture Garden holds one of the most romantic settings in Minneapolis. The garden’s centerpiece is one of Minnesota's most famous landmarks, Spoonbridge and Cherry. Various paths also lead to a number of other unique sculptures and through the glass enclosed Cowles Conservatory which displays various permanent and seasonal displays of native, tropical and exotic plants. Couples can enjoy a picnic in the grass or roam the grounds admiring the art. The 11-acre garden is a friendship project between the nearby Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.

Como Park Zoo and Conservatory

Como Park Zoo and Conservatory has been a Twin Cities icon for over 100 years and it happens to be one of the most romantic locations in the Twin Cities. Couples can stroll through the various indoor and outdoor exhibits. During the week of Valentines Day the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory transforms into a romantic setting with a candle-lit ambiance amongst the three featured gardens. Live musicians will bring music to the air as diners are served by a local catering service.  Admission to the zoo and conservatory is free, but a small donation is recommended.

Lebanon Hills Regional Park

Nothing says romantic like exploring the outdoors by candlelight. The 2,000-acre Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan, south of St. Paul, has regularly scheduled evening cross-country skiing, ice skating and snowshoeing enhanced with glowing luminaries. As the sun drops from the sky, enjoy glowing trails alongside your date. When you’re finished return to the visitor center and cozy up by a blazing bonfire with a hot chocolate. Rental equipment is reasonably priced and can be checked out at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center.
