Family Activities in New York City
Where else can you find the oldest aquarium in operation and the only one in New York City? Right on Brooklyn’s Coney Island. All year round, families can meet sharks, penguins, stingers and more at the New York Aquarium. Socialize with sea life as volunteers guide you through the indoor touch pool or learn about what life is really like under the sea with special nautical events and classes, just for kids. Did we also mention that sea lions aren’t afraid to show off their musical chops? Who knows what you’ll find swimming inside the monstrous tank. Either way, you’ll create plenty of stories to share for bedtime.
See over 4,000 animals from around the globe at the largest metropolitan zoo in the US! The Bronx Zoo may be a trip to some, but it’s always worth it every time, especially when you can go on your very own adventure at the Congo Gorilla Forest, World of Reptiles, Tiger Mountain and Monkey House, just to name a few. Feed farm animals at the children’s zoo, go on camel rides, explore wild Asia on the monorail and watch daily sea lion feedings. Guests under two get free admission and every Wednesday is “suggested donation day.” Wear your most comfortable sneakers for an adventurous workout!
