Myriad Botanical Gardens Crystal Bridge

The whole family will love looking at exotic and tropical plants and beautiful gardens at the 17 acre Myriad Botanical Gardens.  You can explore the two different areas and landscapes of the gardens – the Tropical Rain Forest Zone and the Dry Tropical Zone.   This learning adventure will expose your kids to over 1000 species of plants from six different continents!  The Myriad Botanical Gardens are open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Arcadia Lake

Soak up some sun during the summer at the swimming beach at Arcadia Lake right outside Oklahoma City in the city of Edmond. Arcadia Lake offers fishing year round in a heated fishing dock, as well as water sports like boating and skiing. 17 miles of hiking trails (that are also horse-friendly) are perfect for walking or mountain biking.  The kids will love the two 18-hole disc golf course, as well as multiple campground selections. Kids aged 5-15 can the All-American Fishing Derby in June.

Bricktown Water Taxi

Your entire family will love taking a tour of Oklahoma City’s Bricktown onboard the Bricktown Water Taxi.  The guided tour is 40 minutes of fun, as tour guides show your points of interest and share the history and building of the canal. Tours leave every 10-15 minutes and you can buy a pass that you can use all day. You simply hail the water taxi at various locations on the canal. The main dock is located below Mickey Mantle Boulevard across from the AT & T Bricktown Ballpark.

Frontier City Theme Park

Frontier City is Oklahoma’s largest theme park. This 40-acre theme park features more than 50 rides, including roller coasters, live shows and free concerts. Kids will love the daily Bob the Builder Live show. This western-themed park features family rides including the Steel Lasso, The Prairie Schooner, Grand Centennial Ferris Wheel and the Tornado. Please note that Frontier City is closed November through March.

National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum

The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum features the Children’s Cowboy Corral, which allows kids to dress in western gear of boots and chaps.  The entire family will enjoy viewing Western contemporary art from Frederic Remington, Charles Russell and Albert Bierstadt.  The museum is open Monday through Friday, 10 am - 5pm; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
