Over the holidays, Seuss Landing, located at Islands of Adventure, is transformed into a wintery wonderland filled with spectacular Seuss themed holiday decorations. There’s even a live reenactment of the tale complete with song, dance and laughs. Look out for the holiday Whos wondering about the premises. Take a spin on the One Fish Two Fish flying fish or The Cat In The Hat family ride. All festively themed! Don’t forget to take home the ultimate holiday souvenir, a photo with Mr. Grinch. Entrance to Grinchmas is included with admission to Islands of Adventure.
Light Up UCF, located just outside the University of Central Florida Arena, has become one of Orlando's largest holiday celebrations. Light Up events over the holiday season include a holiday film festival, daily Florida style ice skating, a Christmas light show spectacular and even a snow slide for kids. More than 75,000 individual lights are synchronized to music during the light show as kids fly by on saucers down the snow slide. The ice skating rink features music by a live DJ. This year, Shrek and the crew from Shrek the Halls have invaded Gaylord Palms annual ICE! event. Experience thrills and chills in the frigid nine degree indoor atmosphere. You'll see 4.5 acres of glitter and gold, magic and cold, as well as a winter wonderland hand-carved from two million pounds of ice. Yes, two millions poulds of ice. There are five 30-foot ice slides for slipping and sliding, life size ice sculptures with Shrek and his friends waiting around every corner. It takes 40 artisians to create this ICE! wonderland each year so prepare to be amazed. Long pants and closed toe shoes are required. A winter coat is provided for each ticket holder for use at the event.
The Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal Studios Orlando is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, which means the parade is bigger and better than ever. Handlers maneuver the gigantic floats and balloons straight from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade through the park's streets. Kids will spot characters including Shrek, Scooby Doo, The Simpsons and even Dora during the parade. Costumes and parade performaces are over the top. Picture a giant candy cane woman on stilts.
