There are the super posh cocktail events in the evenings, best burger battles, family picnics, beer tasting – you name it there is likely an event for it! Whether you are looking for a good event to take the whole family to or are in need of a fabulous girl’s-night-out locale, you will want to take advantage of this event every year! ‘Some like it hot’ and boy will they be impressed with the salsa options at this crows pleasing favorite competition! Arizona’s finest come together to benefit the Hemophilia Association while showcasing their original salsa creations. Each year the Tempe Beach Park becomes home to this salsa showdown. A bowl of chips and salsa samples sit on each table and as you walk from booth to booth you can vote for your own personal favorite. Of course you will need to cool your mouth down after all that tasting and of course you will find plenty of margaritas and icy beer on tap. There are also live, family-friendly bands and a great area to sit and relax in the sun. This is one food challenge you will not want to miss.
Think all golf tournaments are stuffy affairs? One trip to the Waste Management Phoenix Open and you will see enough debauchery to last a life time! Not that it isn’t a serious competition however, many of the nation’s top golfers are there to complete and most everyone else is there to have a good time and party! You can count on seeing a wide variety of people at the event ranging from families and diehard golf enthusiasts to college students and 9-to-5-ers cutting loose like Monday will never come! When the sun goes down, the golf may stop for the night but the partying continues at the Valley’s hot spot the Coors Light Bird’s Nest! Here you will enjoy headlining bands and great DJs just be sure you will still be able to get up bright and early in the morning to start it all over again!
New Year’s Eve is a great time to head to Mill Avenue for the nationally celebrated Fiesta Bowl Block Party. If you are looking for a laid back quiet way to ring in the New Year, this is not it! Expect people everywhere you look confetti, the sound of party horns and lots of live music – in a nutshell, it is one of the most traditionally festive atmospheres that you can imagine! The entire length of Mill Ave. shuts down to traffic and college kids, families and adults alike are able to stroll up and down the streets and secure a great spot to ring in the New Year. If you are looking to head out for a night with friends (or are ready to make some new ones) the Fiesta Bowl Block Party won’t disappoint.
