Arizona Hot Air Balloons

Take in the beauty of the Sonoran desert and mountains of Phoenix, Arizona in a hot air balloon ride.  Thanks to Arizona’s weather, Arizona Hot Air Balloon company offers year 'round flights in Phoenix, and the surrounding cities of Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree and Tempe.  Your expert guide will educate your family on the flowers and wildlife of Arizona and you will love seeing the beautiful Bradshaw Mountains. Rancho de los Caballeros

Arizona is known for their kid-friendly dude ranches – and Rancho de los Caballeros, located a little over an hour outside of Phoenix in Wickenburg, offers many activities for the entire family.  You can stay at the casita guest rooms and enjoy living among the 20,000 acres of beautiful Arizona wildlife.  Enjoy plenty of trail rides, cowboy cookouts, trap and skeet and an 18-hole championship golf course. The kids club is free for kids age 5-12 and lets kids go on trail rides and try out ring riding in the corral. No sitting around watching TV at this active kids club!

Salt River Recreation Area

We may not have a beach in Phoenix, Arizona – but we do have Salt River tubing! Located at the Salt River Recreation Area (near Mesa), the entire family will enjoy floating on tubes down the river.  It is generally open May through Labor Day every day and only on weekends from Labor Day through September.  You park your car and take a bus to different launching points, where you rent a tube and float down the river. Times range from 2-6 hours.  The weekends can get pretty rowdy, so families might enjoy going during the quieter times, Monday through Thursday.

Schnepf Farms

Schnepf Farms is a family-owned farm outside of Phoenix, AZ in a town called Queen Creek.  It offers year-round activities, including petting zoo, hay ride, deer feeding,  organic  “u-pick” gardens, an on- site restaurant and even a “Farmer For the Day” program for kids!  They offer a year 'round campsite, perfect for escaping the city!  They offer wonderful seasonal activities, including the Pumpkin & Chili party in October (voted Arizona’s Best Fall Event) and a Winter Wonderland in December, which includes ice skating, Arizona’s largest Christmas tree, bonfires, hay rides and more!
