Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

One of Portland's oldest live entertainment venues is also one of the city's most spectacular. The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall was originally built in the 1920s at the Portland Public Theatre, so it still has that classic "Portland" light up marquee sign on the front of the building and gorgeous arcitecture on the interior that will make you swoon and feel as if you stepped back in time to an era where going to the theatre was part of life. Now, it is home to the Oregon Symphony, plus host to many concerts, shows, plays, comedians and events.

Aladdin Theater

If your favorite band is coming to the Aladdin Theater in Portland, then you're in luck because there isn't a bad seat in the entire place! Portland locals love seeing concerts, speakers and comedians at the Aladdin because the ticket prices are low, the beer is cold and cheap and the pizza at the consession stand is tasty. People do compain that the seats here are on the small side, but if you're at a concert, this won't matter much anyway because you'll be up dancing the entire time.

Rose Garden Arena

It's hard to label exactly what Portland's Rose Garden Arena is -- A basketball court for home team Portland Trailblazers? A hockey arena for the beloved Winterhawks? The best concert venue in town where all of the big names stop on their way down the West Coast? A family friendly event location that hosts the circus, ice skating shows and more? As you can easily tell, the Rose Garden Arena is sort of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to live entertainment. Parking is cheap for most events or take the MAX, which has a stop right next to the entrance.

Crystal Ballroom

Yet another versitile live entertainment venue in Portland is downtown's Crystal Ballroom. Owned by McMenamins Pub and Brewery, the Crystal Ballroom is one of the coolest spots in Portland -- they host concerts and huge dance parties here almost every night of the week and are well-known around the city for their floor that bounces under your feet. Within the Crystal Ballroom, there are other smaller venues such as Lola's Room, where local bands and performers often appear for a more intimate show. Most shows typically have a beer garden-type set-up for guest who are over-21 to enjoy a drink with the show.

Wonder Ballroom

There's so much to love about Portland's Wonder Ballroom that we're going to get straight to it -- During all-ages shows, they split the room so that the drinkers don't get stuck in the back next to the bar for the entire show. They try their hardest to start shows on time and do a good job doing so. The staff is super friendly and accomodating -- no battling with snarly bouncers here! There is an outdoor balcony to get a little fresh air. Full bar that takes credit cards, plus a nice little food menu that isn't overpriced. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for up to date ticket information.
