Fair St. Louis

When it comes to Fourth of July fireworks celebrations, St. Louis has much to be proud of! In fact, AOL’s Digital City has ranked Fair St. Louis and Live on the Levee as fifth in the country for the best fireworks display, beating Chicago and New York City. Every year, visitors flock to the Arch and downtown area to take in the fireworks exploding majestically against the picturesque monument background. The fair also features free concerts from big-name entertainers, making it a prime summer destination for families from all over the bi-state area and beyond.

Busch Stadium

Everyone knows that St. Louis has the best fans in baseball. With the newly constructed Busch Stadium, baseball games are an even more full-sensory experience than ever before. Winning games bring on a full-fledged fireworks show above the stadium, framed perfectly against the backdrop of the St. Louis arch. Every victory brings that much-loved cacophony of bang-bang-bang above the city. With two World Series championships within the past six years, suffice it to say St. Louis has seen its fair share of fireworks lately.

Kirkwood Freedom Festival

Each year, residents of Kirkwood and St. Louis convene upon Kirkwood Park to enjoy the free annual Freedom Festival and its stunning fireworks display, accompanied by fanfare, food and refreshments. The fireworks show begins at dusk, lasting roughly from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. All aspects of the Freedom Festival are provided by the Lions Club and Kirkwood Park. So this Fourth of July, come to the corner of Geyer and Adams to check it out!

Fireworks at Bluebird Park

Every year, idyllic Bluebird Park in Ellisville transforms itself into a festive hotspot of fun, live music, food and fireworks. You’ll find a wide selection of food and drinks, including all the traditional favorites, like hot dogs, ice cream, brats and more. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. on the Fourth; fireworks begin by 9:30 p.m.; the event wraps up around 10:45 p.m. It’s well worth the trip to West County to see the gorgeous park transformed!

Alton's Mississippi River Fireworks Festival

Situated on a river bluff against the stunning backdrop of the Clark Bridge, Alton is a perfectly picturesque setting for a fireworks spectacular. If you can’t make it to downtown St. Louis to see the fireworks against the Arch background, this is an absolutely acceptable alternative! The little river town of Alton  transforms itself into a pure slice of Americana. Enjoy food, beer, live entertainment and, of course, a big fireworks display.
