Volta Miuda Capoeira

Experience Brazilian culture in Salt Lake City with capoeira. The popular dance of break dancing originated from Capoeira. With the flips, twists, turns, and self-defense techniques, capoeira is a great form of exercise. Hundreds of years ago, the slaves in Brazil were not allowed to practice any kind of fighting. The slave owners were afraid they would overtake them and escape. The slaves created Capoeira as a disguised form of fighting -- it looks like a dance, but is a form of martial arts. Capoeira is open to all skill levels, and everybody is invited to try it out. Constant moving makes it a great form of exercise, all while having fun. Kids classes are also available starting at age six.
