Sage French Cake

A hidden gem in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood of San Diego, Sage French Bakery is a Japanese Patisserie that hits the spot for those who like their cheesecake and desserts delish, but not too sweet. From tiramisu to cream pastries, Sage French Bakery is worth a visit. Repeat customers like the perfect size of each of the desserts as well s the light textures. Locals love how fresh the cakes are - you won't find a days-old dessert here. And while the interior doesn't lend itself to a romantic date, Sage is great for to-go orders. Unfortunately, Sage doesn't have a website, so call if you have any questions.

Coronado Cupcakery

Love cupcakes? Then you'll absolutely love the Coronado Cupcakery. Located at Ferry Landing in beautiful Coronado, the Coronado Cupcakery whips up indulgent and original cupcakes every day of the week. In fact, they have a cupcake schedule. You can check their website for a calendar of cupcake flavor offerings, from red velvet to peppermint. Enjoy your cupcake while lounging in the grass or sitting at a table, looking at downtown San Diego. The Coronado Cupcakery is definitely worth a quit trip over the bridge - or even a ferry ride from downtown!

Eclipse Chocolat

Located in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, Eclipse Chocolat has the chocolate dessert to make your taste buds sing. Even better, you can visit the dessert cafe for something special every day. From tasting platters to drinking chocolates, the treats are to die for. Once a month, you can experience a true dinner and dessert concept called Small Plate. Visit the Eclipse Chocolat website for details. Eclipse Chocolat sources their chocolate from Guittard Chocolate of San Francisco, a family-owned company for over 150 years that is licensed by the Fairtrade Labeling Organization. Eclipse also labels its desserts for special dietary considerations, including vegan and gluten free.

ENO

Located in the beautiful and historic Hotel del Coronado, ENO's San Diego is so much more than a wine bar. If you like a little vino with your dessert, ENO is for you. The upscale wine lounge offers both indoor and outdoor seating, complete with fire pits for slightly cool SoCal evenings. Sip your wine and nosh on a fabulous chocolate dessert from the menu, where ENO sums it up so well: "Exercise is a dirty word...every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate." Whether you're on an intimate date with your sweetie or a girl's night out, ENO is perfect.

Extraordinary Desserts

Located in Balboa Park near downtown San Diego (with a second location in Little Italy), Extraordinary Desserts will have your mouth watering from the minute you walk in. As owner and chef Karen Krasne says, "Food is best enjoyed as a reflection of culture" -- you'll experience that philosophy when you enjoy tastes from around the world. From cakes to cookies, shortbread to crème brulee, Extraordinary Desserts has a special sweet something to fulfill your cravings. As an added bonus, you'll love the decor in Extraordinary Desserts!
