California Surf Museum

Located in Oceanside, California Surf Museum was founded in 1986 and remains a leader in surf museums. If you've ever wanted to learn more about the history of surfing, this is the place to do it! California Surf Museum offers rotating exhibits, fun events and a museum store, where you'll find unique items. The museum has had several "homes" before it settled into its most recent -- and permanent -- location. On Tuesdays, admission to the museum is free, so stop by and enjoy some surf history!

Coronado Concert in the Park

If you're looking for a fun, relaxing and free outdoor event, check out Coronado's Concert in the Park series. Each Sunday, you can pack a picnic and head to Spreckles Park for live music and a great atmosphere. Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chairs so you can get comfy and enjoy yourself. This event is great for families, singles and even couples on a date. You'll find people dance the evening away - from little kids to people in their 90's. Bring a sweatshirt - the park is very shaded and even though it can be warm in the summer, you might get a little chilly as the sun goes down.

Ferry Landing Concert Series

Take in some sun and music at Ferry Landing's free concerts. Ferry Landing is located on the bayside of Coronado. You can hop on the ferry from downtown or take a quick drive over the bridge. Once there, you'll find a laid back atmosphere where people of all ages come to enjoy the nice weather, beautiful bay views and fun music. There are a limited number of outdoor tables and chairs, but you can also bring a blanket or lawn chairs and spread out on the grass in front of the bay. Remember that parking is not always easy to come by during the summer months, so be prepared to drive around a bit or to park a few blocks away in the neighborhoods and walk.
