Barrel Room

Tucked within the Fitzgerald Hotel at the former site of The Hidden Vine, the Barrel Room wine bar is the ultimate spot for both the experienced and novice wine connoisseur. But, don't let the lack of flashy décor fool you; the intimate, relaxed atmosphere and quality wine selection makes it the perfect place for sipping some vino with a date or a small group of three. Not sure what to order? The staff is essentially the same as the previous establishment and is chalk full of wine knowledge to help pair you with the perfect wine. Or, take your taste buds on a journey by variety or region and opt for the sampler for the same price as a full glass. Mid- to high-price selection and small fare menu that includes flatbreads, cheeses and more is reason enough to make it the next scene of your happy hour or late night date!

Magnolia Pub & Brewery

Sometimes a girl just needs a tall glass of suds, and Magnolia Pub and Brewery is the best around! A knowledgeable, laid back staff knows their brews, which change from week to week and by event since they brew this liquid gold in-house. The menu compliments the handcrafted beers just right, even when you're sneaking in for breakfast and a little hair of the dog (we won't judge). Whether you prefer your cold one on tap or straight from the cask, there is no doubt that Magnolia Pub and Brewery is a huge influence on the San Francisco beer culture.

It's not often that you can find a restaurant that can boast both good food and good drinks, but this Mexican-themed  restaurant, complete with complimentary warm, fresh chips and multiple salsa offerings, does both. Known for some of the best margaritas around, they not only offer a slew of specialty margaritas in addition to the ones you are used to, but there's something a little sweeter about getting more bang for your buck, too. Swing on in before or after the dinner rush to avoid the crowds, or come by for the happy hour, which is only offered at the bar. For the less adventurous margarita connoisseurs, go for the house margarita in a glass rimmed with a more flavorful, special blend of salt that only makes the great margaritas at this eatery even better.

Boom Boom Room

Looking for a stiff drink at a reasonable price? Well then, ladies, look no further than the Boom Boom Room. From mixed drinks to wine and blues to rock and roll, this musical venue is the perfect place to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while getting down with some of the best live entertainment you'll see in the city by the bay. While the band on stage will keep your bootie shaking for sure, take a moment to look above you and scope out the unique ceiling. Although the under-$20-cover charge won't break the bank, be sure to check the website for free entry nights.

The Occidental Cigar Club

Cozy up in the Occidental Cigar Club on your next date for a comfortable atmosphere that lacks pretentiousness. Seating can be found at both at the bar and at tables near the entrance, but either way you'll find fast and friendly service of beer, wine, cocktails and liquor plus a large scotch and whiskey menu. At "The Ox" you can purchase cigars at the club or bring in your own, but regardless of whether you are a cigar novice or a self-proclaimed connoisseur, the selection of premium brand cigars is sure to suit your taste. So, grab your guy, choose your favorite stogie and start doing your best Demi Moore impression.
