Adams Morgan Day

This annual festival in the Adams Morgan neighborhood is a family friendly event, with games for the kids, clowns, and interactive activities with instructions in both English and Spanish. For mom and dad you can enjoy foods from around the globe at various sidewalk cafes, enjoy the art owrk on display, live music, and shops. Bring along your dancing shoes because they offer dance lessons for Salsa, Rumba, and many more! The party goes into the night, for those who can get a sitter this neighborhood has some of the best night clubs in the city. 

African American Family Celebration

If you happen to be in the city for the Easter holiday don't forget to stop by the zoo on Easter Monday for their annual African American Family Tradition. Your kids will love the Easter egg hunt and animal demos and you will love the live jazz and gospel performances. Enjoy the last little bit of your holiday weekend with the animal themed relay games and the visit from the panda is sure to be the highlight for everyone in the family! Get there early and remember to take the metro and avoid driving as parking can be hard to find. 

Alexandria Festival of the Arts

One of the top art festivals in the country come here to find that next piece of artwork to hang in your home or office, and as a special treat the artist will be there and you can pick his brain on what inspired him to create each piece which could help you to decide which piece is right for you. You know you are choosing from the best of the best because the artists have to get through a panel of judges that rates them on originality before they are approved for the show. You will also love Alexandria with its cute shops and restaurants! 

Around the World Embassy Tour

This is the perfect event to learn about the world, and actually feel like you are visiting ten countries in one day! Tour through the various participating embassies (list becomes avaiable in April) and enjoy a small part of their culture. You and your family will love seeing the dance performances, many are interactive so you might learn a few moves, and tasting the food. The best is when you get to taste cuisine you have never tasted before! The art work that is displayed along with the reading materials give you a good history and background on each of the participating nations, who knew learning could be this much fun?

Dance DC Festival

This free festival that celebrates dance features dances from all over the world while featuring on one type of dance. One type of dance will be highlighted as will its influences and the dances it has influenced around the world. Grab a girlfriend and head out to enjoy a little dance and free music. Over the course of the weekend you can enjoy concerts and performances in the theaters around the city or wait until Sunday afternoon and enjoy the block party type party.
